We are sometimes asked why we chose the colours and logo we have for
S.O.S. School Of Self-defence?
We chose red & white as these are the Internationally recognised colours for those in distress (SOS) requiring help, assistance and safety.
Our logo is designed to look like a lifebelt which is an easily recognised symbol of
help, assistance and safety.
Our aim is to teach the skills of self-protection and self-defence to provide that
help, assistance and safety.
Welcome to our website! We are based on the Black Isle in the Highlands of Scotland and are a friendly, family-centred and professional Martial Arts School. We are pleased to be associated with some of the finest Martial Arts organisations in the World, including our affiliation with the SKA (Scottish Kempo Academy), plus our Ohana in the U.S.A. at Mountain States International Black Academy and Kaizen International Black Belt Academy .
S.O.S School of Self-defence has schools at Beauly, Culbokie, Muir of Ord, Fortrose, Conon Bridge, North Kessock and our 3 Inverness dojos. We offer a variety of classes for all age groups... Lil' Dragons Kempo for 4 - 7 year-olds, Juniors Kempo for 8 - 15 year olds (this includes Children's Kempo for 8 - 12 year-olds & Teens Kempo for 12 - 15 year-olds) and Adults Kempo for 16 year-olds and upwards.
All S.O.S. classes are motivational, educational and inspirational with students receiving safe, effective and practical self-defence tuition for all ages to reach and and succeed at goals they never thought they could achieve and discover skills and abilities they never knew they had!
All our instructors are SOS trained and our programmes and licenced syllabus and gradings are aligned with the SKA. This gives all S.O.S. students the opportunity to train and learn with a tried-and-tested effective Martial Arts system plus enjoy the benefits of access to all SOS dojos and training events, plus workshops, seminars and Ohana Gatherings.
S.O.S. are very proud of their Martial Arts heritage and lineage.
